PAST EVENTS
Big PATH, Tiny Parks: In October 2020, Livable Buckhead teamed up with local Tiny Doors ATL artist to develop an outdoor event like no other along PATH400 that turned our typical PARK(ing) Day event tiny! For this weekend-long event, Livable Buckhead worked with partners, residents, and sponsors to build parks on a miniature scale to then be viewed and voted on by the public. The goal of this exhibition was to demonstrate the value of increased greenspace in our community by showcasing how impactful community art is and the value of parks – no matter how small.
Picture Your Path: Livable Buckhead and local Girl Scout, Katie Maier, have partnered to sponsor an art contest for all elementary and middle school students in greater Atlanta. In 2015, Katie was one of the winners of the Livable Buckhead “Playing with Shadows” contest, and her design is one of several featured along PATH400. In aspiring to achieve her Girl Scout Gold Award, Katie decided to share the excitement of outdoor art with others. Look out for the winners’ artwork on PATH400 soon!
Party on the PATH: Livable Buckhead’s annual event celebrates PATH400 with music, drinks and dancing, bridging the energy of south Buckhead and the elegance of the north. Join us every year for an hour of cocktails and a tour of the trail, supporting Livable Buckhead’s mission of creating much-needed community greenspace.
PARK(ing) Day: PARK(ing) Day is a worldwide event where citizens, artists, and activists collaborate to transform parking spaces usually reserved for cars into temporary public parks or displays of art or community. Every year, Livable Buckhead partners with local organizations and businesses to transform 40+ parking spaces in the Lenox Square parking lot, each with interactive elements and the chance to be voted on by our judges.
Bike-in Movies: Every year during Atlanta’s annual bike challenge, Livable Buckhead hosts their very own bike-in movies along PATH400. Bike, walk or even scoot – all forms of active transportation are welcome!
Loridans Park Volunteer Event: This “Day in the Dirt” volunteer event provided an opportunity for the local community to make an immediate impact on one of Buckhead’s newest parks. This event included pruning, rooting out invasive plant species, and cleaning up the park. The work being done by the community will soon lead to a beautiful new park on the northern section of PATH400.
