Help us Show that Parks RULE, Cars DROOL on PARK(ing) Day
If Buckhead had a birthstone it would be concrete. Our paved paradise has some of Atlanta’s best high rises, restaurants and shopping, but our parks game is weak. Livable Buckhead is working on that… and we need your help.
On PARK(ing) Day, Friday, September 15, we are staging a take-over of Buckhead’s biggest sea of concrete, the Lenox Square parking lot. Lenox Square has generously offered the 24 dedicated parking spaces along its front walkway (in the lot fronting Peachtree Road) as our PARK(ing) Day venue. Nationally, participants have built free health clinics, planted temporary urban farms, produced ecology demonstrations, built art installations, opened free bike repair shops and even held a wedding ceremony!
Join us for lunch – we’ll have food trucks at Lenox Square between 11:30 and 1:30 – you can check out the creative mini parks and vote for your favorite. What will our participants do with their mini park?
