Outdoor October

Outdoor October – October in Buckhead…the heat of the summer is a memory but the chill of winter is still on the horizon. Warm days, cool evenings make it the perfect time to outside. And for Buckhead getting outside should include getting on PATH400.

During the month of October we have three ways you can enjoy the beautiful weather on PATH400:

biketober2017Atlanta Bike Challenge: Biketober is a fun and free competition to encourage your friends and colleagues to experience firsthand the joys and benefits of riding a bike. People from across the metro Atlanta region will compete against each other in social teams of up to 8 people, including friends, family, or colleagues. You and your team earn points for every mile you ride, every day you ride, and for every person you encourage to sign up. Any kind of riding counts and participants can start earning points for just a 10-minute ride on PATH400.

You also might have heard we have launched the first three stations of the City of Atlanta’s Relay Bikeshare program in Buckhead. This means that even if you don’t own a bike, you can still get out and ride PATH400 – no more excuses!  Get off your lazy butts and get out there!

21032665_1664918500198571_3144117495052974309_nYogtober – Time to get bendy. Starting with a kick-off event on September 23rd, every Saturday from 10 a.m. – noon, PATH400 under the Buckhead wall will host a free yoga class. The sessions will be led by Out of the Box Yoga and lululemon Atlanta will provide water stations.

Yoga is great for reducing stress and allowing for greater relaxation. The program restores balance by helping to strengthen your body, calm your mind, regain your focus and improve self-confidence. Regular practitioners experience healthier, happier living with reduced anxiety, increased tolerance and mindfulness.

fitfriday-instagram1-thFit Friday’s – It is not news that walking is healthy and that people who walk or otherwise exercise regularly tend to be more calm, alert and happy than people who are inactive. To combat afternoon slumps in enthusiasm and focus, take a walk during the lunch hour right outside your door on PATH400.

Studies find that even gentle lunchtime strolls can perceptibly — and immediately — buoy people’s moods and ability to handle stress at work.

Get a group of office mates together and take a stroll. Pretend you’re Allison Janney and Rob Lowe having a Sorkin-esque power walking meeting. Or just slap on the earbuds and take a hike to clear your mind.
